Accounting Services: Request for Proposal – Due December 11, 2017 by 5pm
The Stone County Developmental Disability Board (SCDDB) is seeking proposals from qualified accounting service firms for monthly accounting services for the remainder of our fiscal year (which is a calendar year ending December 31, 2017), with the option of providing accounting services for the following two fiscal years.
Everyone is touched by someone with a developmental disability. On November 8, 2016 Stone County residents voted to establish a Developmental Disability Board in Stone County.
Here is why it matters to our community and its citizens:
- Developmental disabilities (DD) begin before age 22, usually last throughout a person’s lifetime and can cause problems with major life activities such as language, mobility, learning self-help, and independent living. With supports in place, people with DD can live happy, productive and engaged lives.
- A developmental disability board allows for a county to collect a small county-wide property tax for the establishment of those supports–ranging from employment services, therapeutic services, respite care for families, children’s services, transportation and a day program. These services are much-needed for the families and caregivers of those with DD in our county.
