Services

My family is so thankful for all that that the Stone County Developmental Disability Board provides.  Jacob loves going to Music Therapy and Art Therapy!  He has made many new friends and is continually learning new things while keeping social!  The respite services are a great way for us to recharge without the struggle of finding someone to sit with him. I don’t know what we would do if we didn’t have all these services!

Danielle Chastain, Jacob’s mom

We contract with a number of not-for-profit agencies to provide service to eligible residents of Stone County. To qualify for services funded through the Stone County Developmental Disability Board, an individual MUST meet eligibility requirements.

Project Lifesaver

Project Lifesaver is a search and rescue program operated by public safety agencies, and is strategically designed for “at risk” individuals who are prone to the life threatening behavior of wandering. Through the Stone County Sheriff’s department, guardians can sign up their loved ones for a bracelet–free of charge– that can provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children with the propensity to wander due to an intellectual or developmental disability. Applications can be obtained through your LinkAbility support coordinator at 417-334-8985, or for general questions, contact the Stone County Sheriff’s office at  417-357-6116.
